UNITE4Horizon Europe Kickoff meeting

Novatex is coordinating the UNITE4Horizon Erasmus+ project. The kickoff meeting took place via zoom in November 2020 due to Covid19 restictions PROJECT DETAILS Even though there has been a closer and more increased collaboration within the Horizon 2020 programme, the involvement of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in innovation partnerships has been reported considerably low. This has resulted in a lower intensity of cross-sectoral cooperation among knowledge providers and smaller businesses. The European Commission wants to raise the quality and widen the participation in its follow-up Horizon Europe programme period, from 2021 to 2027. Observing this gap inspired an international consortium of partners within Europe to undertake a new Erasmus+ project “Unite for Horizon Europe” (UNITE4H). To increase the success rate of strategic cooperation initiatives between HEIs and SMEs, the availability of supportive engagement training programmes is crucial. Throughout the life of the project, we will help build strategic engagement capacity between European academics and researchers and SME representatives to increase the proportion of successful collaborative participation in Horizon Europe initiatives. Over the next two years, our consortium will carry out the following activities: Identifying the engagement needs and challenges experienced and collaborative opportunities envisioned by the HEI academics and researchers and SME representatives across Europe; Developing the Horizon Europe Engagement Training Programme to increase awareness, skills and knowledge capacity among HEI academics and researchers and SME representatives; Pilot-Testing Horizon Europe Engagement workshops among HEI academics and researchers and SME representatives. All the resources that we will produce will be made available for free on this website.  “We aim to help build collaboration capacity for Horizon Europe” The Unite for Horizon Europe Project is a partnership of universities, businesses and intermediaries from Cyprus, France, Finland, The Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Ireland. Head over to our Consortium page to find out more about the partners. Do you want to stay updated on the project? VineFlyGIS

Novatex Solutions LTD VineFly GIS

Vineflygis Project aims to increase agricultural production by helping the farmers control the use of pesticides at the right time with the right amount. These are achieved by means of advanced technological systems. The main aim of this project is to collect statistical data by capturing specific types of pests by number of traps which contain pheromones that attract the type of pests in investigation and send the count by wireless technology to a database where all these records are stored and compared. Based on these data, a graphical chart is generated showing this information . This whole process works fully automated and does not need constant interaction by humans. The locations are carefully examined and selected by satellite images. Each location will include number of traps, called DELTA Traps (image on the right) with a central main unit. The traps will collect the pests, take snap-shots by a wireless camera integrated in the trap and send the images to the central unit where the image processing takes place. The image processing takes each image received by the wireless camera on the trap, analyzes them to recognize the desired type of pests, counts them and sends the number by wireless technology (EDGE, GPRS) to a remote database (located on www.vineflygis.com) . From this point the web application uses the database to generate a graphical chart which gives a clear view of the incline or decline in the number of pests. The graph will show the number of pests in a given day or any period of time, with addition of temperature and humidity which are also received in the same fashion as the number of pests. A great advantage of the graph is that the viewer will be able to customize the chart by date, a period of time, and be able to hide and show the desired traps, humidity or temperature. The chart will automatically zoom in and out accordingly

Novatex Supports WEXHE Project

How can we better prepare our students for their future role in society?  Robert Wagenaar from University of Groningen explains how the WEXHE project tries to find an answer to this question, creating models and packages to help the students navigate the world of work EU countries have experienced a substantial increase in graduate unemployment and a decrease of quality of their employment. European graduates report continuously that they are worried about their careers, while employers voice their concerns over increasing difficulties in finding graduates with matching skills. Within this context, the WEXHE project responds to the concerns expressed by stakeholders on the shortcomings in the labour market orientation of HE, focusing on the balance between practical and theoretical learning in HE and to mismatches between the skills sets of graduates and the skills they require during early careers.
